Tuesday 25, 2008

I figure it is time for an update. This past weekend I went to Impact, a retreat at my church for the youth. Twas fun. Our host home dad built us our derby car for the race. We mounted a high-heel chair to it. It ended up being mucho grande coolio.

Yesterday our experiment worked the first time we tried it for the first time ever in Chemistry. *maybe it was the second time ever* We learned about Mr. Herb's book. It sound interesting. I think that I will like it when it is done. We also learned that Heath can write. Her introductory paragraph was more like a story than an introduction to a water research paper.

Today I went to the Now and Then shop with LLB. We had been to Bedford's for a GS feild trip and b/c it took almost no time whatsoever we asked if we could go to N&T. Neither of us paid any attention to the time and after being there for an hour mom called. Oops! It was supposed to be a quick trip. As I did not wish to die, we quickly paid for my vintage cards and left the building. Briskly we walked home. I was the whole time asking LLB " What exactly did mom say? Did she sound angry? Did she talk like she was mad at us for being gone so long and sound very harsh or was it more I forgive you for not checking the time when you said sorry?" Pretty much I feared the worst b/c I was stupid and didn't pay any attention to how long we had been in there. Luckily, thank you mommy, she was more worried that we hadn't called, which we were told to when we were leaving, and she thought that something might have happened to us. My mom was gracious and forgave understandingly b/c she knew that we had quite unintentionally extended our shopping trip beyond what we had planned.

I now must do the dishes and some chemistry then I think I will plunge into Mansfield Park. Jane Austen is my friend.

Talk to ya'll later!

p.s. Ya know what I just found out. Spell check doesn't work if all your words are spelled correctly.

I have completed (finaly) Ivanhoe! After having had this book check out of the church library for about 2 months I am now able to return it. Last night, in one last burst of intelectual strengh, I completed the reading of the book. Tis a good story and it is written beautifully. I do believe, though, that should I ever venture to take it off the shelf again I will read it with a Latin dictionary by my side. By that I will be able to translate the Latin of al the clergy within the pages of Scott's masterpeice. Reading this makes me want to read more of Scott's work. I really liked it. I read an abridged version first and it was cruddy. It had very little of the actual story i it. In fact I don't remember any thing in the abridged version that matches the true thing besided character names.

I had this great post all ready to type out earlier but as I was not able to post it when I thougth of it I have now forgotton what twas all about. That's sad.

At coop, after having sticker letter trouble, I was able to leave my family page disasemble but almost done. Ms Stacy finished it for me and added some extras. It looks great! Even the picture is good! I usually don't like pictures of me but I actually like this one.

I am off to design invatations.

p.s. Oh Oh! I actually got through my entire lesson in my modesty class today. You guys can memorize their verse too. Most of ya'll already know it most likely. Romans 12:1. Have at it!

My banquet dress

The front
The whole back

Beading on the skirt. (Sorry I couldn't get a good picture. The fabric is too shiny.)

The waist
The back
I will not wear the blue shawl. I'm going to get a shrug that actually matches. I think that matching is a good thing. Who knows what shoes I will wear. Probably flipflops.

Isn't the beading pretty? I sink so. Thanks Mommy for finding it for me. My mommy bought it at Dillards the day that we went to FtF last year. In order for me to have somewhere to wear it I must call the restaurant and bowling place agian. I forgot to ask the bowling place if we could reserve lanes. Actully I didn't think of it. And the restaurant manager was busy and that is who I need to speak to. I do that tomorrow and then this week or early next week invatations will be sent out. Yeah Ha ya'll!

J. Alan says I am pretty.

The Bodice

A sleeve
The end of the zipper in the back.
It is a pretty color. I like the neckline. But umm, I don' t think the dress was really me. 'Sides it is too small. I can get into it but twas a tight fit. Mrs B. let me borrow this and some others to see if I wanted to use any of then for the banquet. I need to call Bella Italia and Bowling world. I hate to talk on the phone to weirdo stranger people. Sorry Nicole, you can't have my dress. You have to find your own. One of these days I will put it on and let ya'll see it.
Right now I am listening to music for Children's church tomorrow.
I am trying to find music that all the kids will like. Tis harder than it should be I think.
I took pictures for a small private wedding today. I don't have as many good ones as I thought that I did. Some of the ones that looked clear on the camera weren't on the computer. My silly camera starts to lag after a few pictures. Aggravating it is. I need to work like crazy so that I can buy a new one. I could also use a car. But then I would need a lisence. To get that I would have to take a test! Maybe I don't need the car or the lisence. Maybe I just need to suck it up, study, then take the test. I think that would be the most accurate of maybes.
We(dad and I) went to block buster tonight to get some movies. It took forever. There wasn't much but we ended up getting some war movie for him, SecondChances, and Arsnic and Old Lace. We have decided to not to go back anymore. We might try netflix.
I saw Ms. Potter at Sam's and I said " Happy Birthday mom!" as I put it into our cart.
She then in turn "Happy Brirthday"ed me. Then she said "Didn't I give you this for Christmas?". No she didn't. She bought though, and put it in the gift closet for my birthday. So guess what I got for my birthday today?

I got a 25 for real

Heath came over this evening with her sister. We watched the redemption of Sara Cain.

That was all I had time for last night.

Twas a good movie and now I want to read the books.

I have a new bed. It has a trundle for Beans. My room is now cleanish. It will be after I make my bed and pick up a few things.

We have mice. Tis bad. They made a huge mess under my bed. Yuck. Mouse poo everywhere. Why my room? I have no idea but it meant that my floor got vinigared. Then we found more under the microwave. The the wall, the counter, and the floor, plus other things around them got vinigered. We set traps. The bait is gone but we are still still with out Morte mouse.

Chemistry stresses some people out but sorry Shawna momma I don't get it! My paper was finnished and turned in with a creative title and boring in body. Who really wants to read " Wastewater: A pharmaceutical landmine"? I wouldn't. But that is done and I have two chapters to finish. Two, you ask? Well yes b/c I forgot to do the endofthechapter questions for nine. I thought I did but I don't remember the answers thus I am doing it agian. Then I will do chapter 10. Aghsdafk! Oh well.

Tomorrow is coop and my Modest lapbook class. Last night before Heath came over I made my lesson plan. I think this week will go better than before. ;D

I just had a call from Britter and we are not going to go out of town as we thought. Things have come up so it has been canceled.

Saturday I have a baby shower to got to and I am taking pictures for a friend of the family.

Last week was the Gothard seminar. Twas good but long. I made a new friend her name is "Jeddica". We are now corresponding via e-mail. Tis wondermous. Everyone should go to a Gothard seminar at least once in their life. No kidding you need to go. It is convicting and helpful. In fact, twould be best to go more than once. First you have to go to the basic before going to the advanced. There is one part though that I could have done without. But that will have to be another blog post. Rather that is an "in-person" story. So if you see me you can ask me about it. ;D My church may have another one this summer. Almost-Newlyweds! you need to come if they have it.

Chemistry is yet beconing me agian. I must answer its call.

Did I tell ya'll our Music ministry is leaving. It is really sad. But God will bless his obedience and we get to meet new people! That is always good. That too may be a blog post.

I got a ......

Seven, yes ladies and gents, I got a seven. How do you get something as low as a seven, you ask? Well, you dream and in the dream you get a seven b/c you got a zero on the science portion of the ACT. In the dream I got a 29 in English, 27 in Reading, and another highter 20 something in math but b/c of the zero in Science, my grade was a 7. Weird huh?

Yesterday I took the ACT. I don't think it went too badly. For English and Math I was pretty alert and awake but for reading and science, my brain was numb. THe no break thing doesn't work that great. I was very suprised at the science. I hadn't worried about it b/c it is science and science is almost my thing. I like it. Others had told me "beware the science" but I brushed it off like an idiot. On all of the practice stuff I have had for the ACT the science was very similar to the reading with a graph or two thrown in but on the actual test there was only ONE place that could be considered even remotely similar to reading comp. the rest was graphs. Had my mind not been foggy I probably could have done much better. Hmm, lets say like not coloring in the last ten question bubbles. THat is going to hurt me.... a lot especially since I guess on others before that! (grimmacing smile)

Like I said by the time reading came around I was numb but I think I did ok. Much better than the stupid graphs. No they are not stupid graphs they are things that I must learn to read which will help me when I am checking charts to statistic and so on and so forth for various political and social reasons.

Ya'll I was nervous as all get out. I jittered and shook, convulsed, was noseuous, actually almost cried. The English was exhilerating. My yuckyness almost went entirely away. As did it also during the math. (bytheway I was suprised at how much I knew. But as they say, I, like most everyone else guessed on over half.)At reading and science, they were all back with the addition of a fog in my brain.

oH, oh! Did you know that you are kind in spite of your inner desire to be snappy and introverted it helps you relax. Yes, I did look out past my yucky inards and was nice to the proctor. It helped greatly.

I must do some school. Oneday next week I will post about the Gothard seminar which all of you should have come to. Maybe next time we will do it in the summer so more people can come. :D

Pray for the Noom's cousins and Mr. Chickenwing. They are both sick. One with a high fever and the latter with what we think is the flu.

p.s. My spell check isn't working again. Sorry momma!

edit: Mommy I fixed them!

Snow pictures and a pink volcano....

I got some snow on my lense. You can see it in the picture of J. Alan.

I know the video is boring but I wanted to know if I could get it to work. We did this today. Beanie was VERY excited.
