How to witness honestly

Sunday, March 30, 2008

Ahhh!

Friday was Jr/Sn banquet. We had a wondermous time. We spent many hours in Bella~Italia and guess what? We even sang with the entertainer/piano guy that was there. Hannah S is EXTREMELY talented and was able to play songs from memory that we sang to. Our party sang their graduation song. The vocals weren't the best but that is ok. We had a great time. After dinner, it was off to bowling. But alas it was not to be. A high school rented out the place so we couldn't get in. I tried to reserve lanes or figure something out and they said you they were not able to do that at all. But wait- are there not two bowling places? Yup there are but when they are both full up your just outta luck. So most of us went to Walmart and had a scavenger hunt. Mucho grande fun!

Last night was youth night. We had a TON of people. There were a bunch of newbies! It was great. The Noom's house is getting too small so I think next month we are going to have it at Mr. Herb's house. Ms. Katie and I were talking this morning and we are going to start having more youth events. Maybe do two or three things a month. We might go bowling or putput or it might be that we just have a prayer/praise& worship meeting. It looks like maybe this summer we are going to have a world view retreat out at "the farm". Yup this is good. We played mafia last night. Any game that you play with ColeE has got to be fun and last night's mafia wasn't any different.

This morning's songs were kinda 'blah' but as time progress so did the quality of things. Today we used a baseball analogy. Hit the ball = salvation/ 1st base= baptism/ 2nd base= regular church person/3rd base= you have your nitch of service / home= true Christain living.
That isn't to say that you are not being sanctified always and that you are being conformed the whole way but it is sort of a growth chart. It isn't the best but it was fairly easy to understand.

I think that soon we are going to make an e-mail loop for our hs youth. That way we can keep up with people and people will be able to suggest things. It is just a good way to stay in contact with people that you don't see except there. I am excited!

A vow of celibacy

In our neighborhood there are a lot of stray cats. One of them in particular likes our house. It is a weird reddish colored long haired girl cat. This poor cat is sick, or so we think. Anyway we are not to touch her. When we went outside this morning it was on our porch with our cat, Malarky. As we tried to shoo her away Nope piped up with "Maybe Malarky and that cat will get married" or course what she means by the marriage of cats is nothing more then "maybe they will have kittens". But at our house those two things are synonymous. "Nope" , says I, " they can't get married Malarky has taken a vow of celibacy. That means he won't marry." So now I think that I will continue to say "fixed", whether it be spayed or neutered, as " a vow of celibacy". I like it. Indeed I do.

He IS Risen.....

I just finished watching 'Enchanted'. I liked it ok. Twas cute.
Mom asked my brother if he wanted to watch it every day for the next week. Nopee answered the question with "yes, yes, yes, yes,....." J. Alan's voice rang out with hers till her realized what he was saying and it quickly and abruptly changed to "No,no,no, no, no".

Our plays went well today. Sadly the number of people who came was much less than last time. If we combined the people from all three of our performances then we could have had about the same amount of people as 1 of the performances last year. Twas disheartening. There were few mistakes. I ate only one line. And forgot only one line. The others didn't miss any that I remember.

We had the Kelsidanari family over for lunch today. They brought their aunt as well. Both of my grandfathers came into town to eat our juicy hamburgers with us. Missa Lyn brought yummy cupcakes. While they were hear the littles hunted eggs. At that time I was inside doing dishes and cleaning up. While they were here we swapped some pretty funny stories. Maybe one day I will tell you one.

I am off to clean my gun.

Bye Ya'll!!!!

I jsut got home from my first skeet shooting practice. I shot 4 of 25 but I am happy. I didn't expect to hit anything! I had a blast. Next practice is on Saturday morning. My right shoulder doesn't hurt, that is the one I shoulder the gun with, but the other does a bit. It doesn't really hurt but it sorta throbs. My left elbow also started to hurt. It makes me think that I am not holding my gun properly. Oh well I will figure it out.

Play practice is tomorrow night. Saturday night is our first performance. Saturday morning is shooting practice again. Then saturday afternoon is play practice.

I stink. I smell of shotgun shells and dirt. Quite lovely it is.

I get to go to tourney! Yeah~ha! Not that I will be anygood but I get to go! Be with people I like to hang out with and that make me laugh, I will. Tis good. This is all if thing go well and I don't die or something. JK But it is true as long as I don't get hurt or in trouble. And if I were to get hurt I would probably go anyway to cheer them on.

Ya'll need to go say "hi" to Luke on his blog. His comment section made me think he was lonely. Go cheer him up.
I will write a good post later. As of right now, I have no time. I need to go write the third installment of the "Tony dream". Then do math.
Shalom

My mom is off to help a mom with labor today. My mom is a dula; not a midwife. She doesn't deliver the baby just helps the mom. We had play practice on Sunday and Saturday. I have a few scenes that I know about but don't have words for. :D I also need a lullaby. Any suggestions? While I am on the subject I would like to cordially invite you to-

My house broke the fall of some poor unasuming snowflakes

Yup ya'll we have snow. B/c of those beautiful flakes coop was canceled and I am unable to attend the choral concert. I am hoping it is canceled that I may be able to go again when it is rescheduled.

Tonight was pizza night. Except for we did not realize that we had no meat not much in the way of veggies therefor our pizzas were skimpy on toppings. Oo.Oo. 'skimpy on toppings' could be another way of saying that a girl is not dressed modestly! Hmmm.

Today Lienardo, aka Wounded Soldier, was reflecting on some stuff that is going on at church and said something that I thought was pretty good. He was watching the snow fall, and at the time, it wasn't sticking. He told me, "That snow is like today's Christian stuff. We have more than ever but it isn't sticking." In other words, or at least when I expanded upon the thought this is what we concluded, we have so much that is "Christian" but very little of it is real. Today's "Christian" society isn't really Christian at all. Rather it is a mixture of different man made philosophies that are meshed together and called Biblical. This philo crud is given to people with the promise that your life will be better but in all actuality it doesn't do anything. Very few are converted b/c very few are told that they have a need to change their ways. I know the quote and the ideology behind it doesn't really match. But we understood what he was talking about.

The snow is 'sposed to last until Saturday morning but I am hoping that it won't. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE snow but I want to shoot. Skeet practice is tomorrow afternoon. I, snapdragons, will not be able to shoot tourney but I still will get to practice with the team. Stupid conflicts.

I just pulled out my camera and it is broken. The lens is loose in the inside and can't recoil. It makes me sick!

We have Easter play practice Saturday afternoon and that morning Taters has solo and ensemble.

Jr/Sn banquet invites were sent out yyyesterday ? or Tuesday. Mary Dimes has gotten hers already.

I am finally sick. I had a sore throat on Monday and Tuesday. Yesterday it didn't hurt but it was still laden with drainage as it is today. This morning I hardly had a voice. As the day had waxed it had become greater but I still can't talk very loudly.

My next post was going to be interactive but b/c my camera is now broken I can't. SNAPDRAGONS!

TJB gets scared

This morning I awoke around 7:30 at Heaths house. I spent de night with her. We were up till later than was good for us. I had corn checks for breakfast. Twere very good. Frosted shredded wheat are my favorite though. Last night we went to a clue party. Heath and I both decided that it was too slow. Not as much fun as it sounds. We had a good time though.

Today while doing laundry chores, my brother rolled up some socks and pitched them at my head. B/c I have cat like reflexes, I was able to use my karate moves to spin and block the sock ball and then added a kick just for kicks. Ok so not really. It hit me quite hard in the eye area. I was given a slight headache and brused eyebrow. I said some like " great now I am goin to go to the movie thing this afternoon with a black eye and I didn't even get it in a fight".

Later that same day, (I got kicked off before the post was done with) J. Alan found a screw driver and proceeded to take apart the Barbie computer we have, take out the batteries, then put it back to gether again. I let him do it b/c he wasn't doing anything naughty. He was busy and we don't care about that toy. It already doesn't work! He couldn't hurt it. Truth be told I did not realize what he was doing exactly till he came and put he batteries in the trash then asked me for more. I saw that he had the screw driver but I had no clue that he could actually get the scews undone. Anyway that is my ingenious little brother.

Yesterday my bell choir rang in service. It went .................... well it just went. They played beautifully in practice. Alas we all got nervous and things sorta fell apart. I feel bad for them b/c they did sooo well durring practice. There are a couple of kids that probably took it hard. We rang it through twice and was on the second time around that all went awry. I got nervous too so when they stopped playing (which they did altogether stop playing) I just picked a place that I knew and we started, skipping a whole line!

Today my table was given an assignment that was actually hard. We asked Mr. Herb to teach us how to set up the equasion like he said we should b/c we didn't know how to do it. But all he did was give us a new experiment. The second one was boring and easy. The first would have been more cool and the experiment itself wasn't difficult but the bookwork before hand required one to figure out what acetic acid and sodium bicarbonate produced. We knew we needed carbon dioxide but what to do with everything else left over?

Fe (iron) +S (sulfer) --> FeS (ironsulfite) The was the second experiment. The two elements were measured, mixed, then combined into FeS via heat (Benson? burner). I had to ask "the guys"* for a 'flame thrower'. Where do you think that I found these young sirs? Their experiment required for them to study the different colors of flames that different elements put off . To see the flames well they needed the dark. Upon searching for them, I heard voices coming from the men's restroom. "Are they all in there?" I thought. I new that they had to clean the dishes between each element's flaming but.... They were. Did you know that if you turn out all the lights in the bathrooms on that floor it is very dark? Anyway I needed aflame thrower. So I knocked on the door only to hear " Yes. What do you need?" from Sweet-T in his 'IamhavingablastdoingthingsthatcouldhurtmeifIamnotcareful' voice. (Is he ever careful, by the way?) He gets 'cited. The Sir Isaac stuck his head out the door and asked what I wanted. B/c apparently four boys in a bathroom can't hear one girl's request for the flame thrower otherwise known as a lighter. Boy this makes for a long story all written out. I did receive a flame thrower. "Give her this one. I like this one [theirs] better. This one [theirs] works better." Thanks a lot Sweet-T. At least I think it was him. I don't remember exactly now.

Our assignment this week is to fin out how many isomers can be made from octane. Yippee.

Later ya'll
