Have you ever been broken by God through a circumstance? Sometimes God uses circumstances to bring us break us and bring us back to Him. All of a sudden through something that happens the scales fall and you realize that your perspective and focus has been off. You have been tantalized by the world. But God in his infinite mercy and love uses circumstances to reveal to you the state of your heart. God uses that event to shock you into reality and then,as a Christian, you turn to the Word and He strikes again through the Sword of the Spirit.

It stings. It is supposed to. But when we are chastised, disciplined, it should, in a way, cause us to cry out for joy. Now don't start hollering'. I know what I am saying. After repenting and coming into fellowship with Him we can rejoice. Not only b/c He is faithful to forgive when we repent but also that He even bothers with us.

We are so unworthy to even be in fellowship with the Creator of the universe. We who, in our sin, hate Him. But God, b/c He is good and just, made a way for us and draws us unto Himself. And if we are His He will not leave us to our own devices. He will bring us back to Him. He promises He will. "He will perfect us until the day of Christ Jesus". I'm sorry I don't remember the reference.

We stray so often and sometimes so far into sin we don't even know we are there. But our Great God brings us back to Him if we truly are His. That is why we can rejoice. Not only that He will forgive but at the fact that it is an assurance. Hebrews 12:3-11 tells us that we can know that we are of the faith if God disciplines us.

Ya'll I am making very little sense today. This is one of my favorite verses right now.

Ps. 119:67.
Before I was afflicted I went astray,
But now I keep Your word.

The cross references that are tagged onto "afflicted" are Pr. 3:11-12 as well as Hebrews. Job 5:17 is another verse that goes along with this.

Wow this isn't well written. Very little of my stuff actually is, but this is especially topsy turvey.
